Dear Lighthouse Family Members:

Welcome, to the first edition of this newsletter. We thank you for your generous and kind support and dedication to the work of The Lighthouse. As many of you already know this is a very exciting year for the organization. Not only are we celebrating 110 years of service to the community, but we have completed a 5 year Strategic Plan and have embarked on a facilities development effort. Board members, staff, volunteers and other agency stakeholders are committed to fortifying The Lighthouse so that it has the capacity to serve the community beyond another 110 years. We are extremely grateful to our supporters and volunteers. Your donations, in-kind services and financial supports have contributed to the fiscal stabilization of the organization and have allowed us to offer quality programs to the community in education, recreation and economic development. Settlement Houses, such as The Lighthouse were created to offer programs that respond to critical social, cultural, economic and human services needs of a community. 110 years later The Lighthouse maintains a commitment and dedication in providing the highest quality programs possible and are committed to working in partnership with other agencies in collectively addressing the wider needs of the community.

It is the participation; contributions… the people who work and volunteer at The Lighthouse that make a reality of our commitment to provide quality programs. Without your tireless work and that of those who have dedicated themselves throughout the 110 year history, this organization could not exist. Therefore this milestone 110-year anniversary is a testament to everyone who, through The Lighthouse has given back to the community. Thank you! and please continue to join and support the work of The Lighthouse into the

This quarter we honor Ana Antonio and Rosheeba Williams. Ana Antonio is “Employee of the Quarter” because of her loyalty not only for her department (Commerce) but for her loyalty and dedication for the agency as a whole. No matter what de-partment is in need of assistance she is always more than willing to assist and still be able to supercede her duties as Job developer of the economic development department. Rosheeba Williams is “Support Staff of the Quarter” because of her persistence inbeing a true asset and model support staff member.
